As an artist I always am looking around and researching – paying attention to certain artists that, to me, stand out among the crowd. One such artist that I have been following for years is artist Mian Situ from Greenwich Fine Art . This guy just flat out gets it. His art is outstanding, with his tones and brush work near perfection. His simplicity in rendering has me studying his work for many hours on end. Lucky for me he has a gallery here in CA up in Laguna Beach which is about an hour north, so I plan on going up and seeing his originals first hand. Sometimes an artist can only marvel at some of our fellow painters who really have that touch, that mindset to see things in pure color. I think his work is worthy of sharing as good art is universal and crosses all genres. Wilson Hurley was, and still is and will forever be, another great “painter” who really understood precise simplicity of color and how color, once placed correctly, trains the eye to “see” objects and fill them in.
Sheer brilliance….

Just though that I would share. Here is the link:

There’s talent, and then there’s “gifted” and he certainly falls into the latter category in gargantuan proportions. Wow!

Thanks for sharing Brian.

BB,

I’ve got two of his giclees. “Word of God” and “WA Girl”.
Awesome artist. I would love to have his “Golden Spike Ceremony”.

May I also recommend Z.S. Liang. I’ve got his “Red Rock Crossing”.

It’s good to branch out a bit. My wife appreciates it. 🙂

Yes!! Good one. Z.S. Liang is also another great artist parallel to Situ. Both are wonderful with their masterful use of color.
