Nice drawings indeed.

Somehow, the angle on the Lynx with its large windshield reminds me of a dragonfly. think

I’m loving the noise on this thread now – looking forward to more! cool2

NEXT!!!

Tornado GR4 and a Hawker Hunter (G-ETPS)

http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee317/Lindys_Lad/Northumbria%20Art/TornadoGR4web.jpg

The Tonka took about 8 hours and is pencils ranging between 2H for the outline drawing through to 8B for the blacks. The same ranges for the Hunter, but due to the simplicity of the aircraft, only took about 4 hours. Cotton buds and Blu-tac are the secret weapons here too….

Thanks Guss. There are a few things which are not quite right, but I’m reasonably happy with it. Certainly not my best…

Cessna 152 commission. G-BXTB of Durham Tees Flight Training. The best looking F152 in our fleet….

Time to draw: 10 hours total

2H, 2B, 4B & 8B pencils on 550gsm bristol board

(oh and the glaring perspective issue on the under-wing codes was corrected before sale, but left on here on purpose :D)

More good drawings . I like the lean and hungry look of the Tornado GR4 . It’s a tricky aircraft to capture . sometimes it looks fat and short other times , as I say, it gets that lean mean look if you pick the right view .

Thanks Neil. The Tonka is a nightmare to get right, particularly the underside. I’m an ex-F3 man anyway, so the mud mover is a little alien ;)

Today’s post is a before and after shot. I tend to shy away from convention, having failed art class at school… so I do a detailed line drawing with a 2H (contrast WAY up here), then start at the left of the fuselage and work right. Wings are done last before final tidying and highlights with the magic blue eraser….

Here’s the Waco VPF 7 which I flew earlier this year…

This week’s effort – a Gloster Gladiator of 87 Sqn’s display team. All three of the aircraft involved had the small propeller spinner removed – presumably there could have been an issue with them coming adrift during aerobatic manoeuvres….

They just keep getting better.  I really enjoyed your “in process” drawing of the Waco.  Thanks much for sharing.
