Server Move Successful – eHangar is Online Again!

We have made a smooth transfer to our new server, which provides faster access and more storage space, and as you can see, eHangar is back online again! 🙂

Currently, we are still on the same old WordPress platform, but soon, we will be converting the site to our new social networking platform, hopefully, by the end of this month.

Thank you, everyone, for your patience and support!

Charter Memberships are still open and your support is always welcomed and needed! You can read how becoming a Charter Member of the new upcoming eHangar Aviation Social Network will benefit you and the site at http://www.ehangar.com/charter-membership/.

Move to new server and platform soon :)

Dear eHangar members

Over the next few days, eHangar.com will be going offline for a few days as we move to a new server, so please don’t be alarmed if you cannot access the site later this week.

The new server will be faster as it uses SSD (solid state drives) instead of the older technology hard disk of the current server. We will also have 75 GB of storage space instead of the current 30 GB, which oftentimes caused the site to crash due to space limitations.

Soon after the move, we will also be switching to the new social network platform. The key challenge to moving to this new platform is to ensure that the forum is transferred as intact as possible to preserve the precious treasure trove of posts all of you have made over the past 15 years.

These new changes have been made possible by the generous contributions of the new eHangar.com Charter Members and member/moderator Gus Schaefer – many thanks! If you would like to be one of the Charter Members, there’s still time to sign up for you – we need as much help as possible to make eHangar.com great again! 🙂

We’re BACK! Everything looks normal (I hope…!)

We’ve just completed the move to a new server. Its been a nail-biting few days because the IT tech guy I hired did not do the job properlycensoredbrooding, and so I had to do it all by myself, with a bit of guesswork here and there, and much uploading and deleting of files and databases.seestars

It looks like the migration has gone well, with only the latest posts of the past few days missing, I think, including my post announcing the site will be down.

For the members’ whose recent posts might not have been backed up and restored properly, I apologise and request that you make the posts again.whistle

Thanks everyone for your patience and accommodation. I hope this new server will serve the site well and quickly too. pilotfly

As always, please post in the feedback section if you spot anything amiss or have suggestions to improve the site, our community.teach

Cheers
