They were 2 or 3K when on the Leisure Galleries site, but his prices are always way over the top (both photos and prints). Some of his signed photos have been there for years. I've seen him buy 1 on e-bay and add 1000% to the paid price.

Leisure galleries still may have that Don Gentile/John Godfrey signed 8 x 10 photograph ... for nearly $7,000!! Desireable, yes, but for that much I want a panel off of Shangri-La included!

A friend of mine has the ULTIMATE 4th Fighter Group collectible. It's a very thick autograph book that an Intel Officer kept from 42-45. He evidently had it close at hand because you cannot name a 4th FG pilot who did not sign the book personally along with his home address. Some pilots signed multiple times. The "gravy" in the book are pages of original artworks, some in watercolor, by a couple of famous guys like Don Allen and Kidd Hofer. Hofer, it isn't well known, was an artist himself. His work definitely had the "experienced" touch.

I had the pleasure of "flipping through" the book personally, and let me tell you, I have offered up to three large original paintings for it ... no dice! I have been assured, however, that his wife has been instructed that if something happens to him, I get the book ... hmm ... Thinking

Reason I mention this is he said Leisure Galleries offered him a RIDICULOUSLY low figure (we laughed loudly for several minutes) for this near-priceless artifact after, I assume, he was trying to have it appraised for insurance purposes.

Maybe if I offer him FIVE paintings ...............

Very nice Stormchaser, i would like them Smile

I can remember similar or even the same ones on Leisure Galleries like mentioned by yerger for an extreme price.

I saw the prints then elsewhere on an other webpage but didn't add a bookmark and couldn't find it anymore. What where the prices for the prints you showed up ? Would be interesting to see if they are below Leisure Galleries ?

Does he, John Ihnotic, actually ever sell anything? The story of his valuation of the 4th FG autograph book and diary for Wade's friend is almost laughable and immediately sets the scene for a place personally where I don't want to be. (see my Christmas Rant). First impressions are everything IMHO in terms of who you want to deal with in this very competitive overcrowded marketplace. Crying or Very sad

An ultra rare signature on a superb print by a great artist. Drool Thinking

This print is double matted to include the original war time signature of Heinz-Wolfgang Schnaufer.

During late 1944, RAF Bomber Command was sending huge formations of Lancaster bombers over Germany night after night. During this massive offensive the Lancaster crews were attacked relentlessly by Luftwaffe ME-110 Night Fighters.

Major Heinz-Wolfgang Schnaufer, with 121 aerial victories, was the most successful night fighter pilot of WWII, and scored his 100th kill at 8:55 PM on the 9th of October 1944 over the Ruhr Valley, the event depicted here.

Signed by NJG 1 Knight's Cross holders; Martin Drewes - Wolfgang Falk - Hermann Greiner - Joachim Jabs - Fritz Lau - Ludwig Meister - Hubert Rauh - Fritz Rumpelhardt - Dietrich Schmidt - Erich Weisflog.

The certificate includes a statement signed by Fritz Rumpelhardt (Schnaufer's radioman) certifying the accuracy of this portrayal.
