This thread is devoted to sharing photos of the Remarques in your collection.

Let me suggest a format: Please post one zoomed out photo showing some or all of the print, including the remarque, and a second photo zoomed in on just the remarque.

Please also caption your photos with the title of the print and artist, and number of your remarque copy.

I’ll begin by posting a few of mine (some since sold off).

The format you suggest sounds great, but if the artists don’t have the remarques done on a print, please submit whatever samples you have. I really look forward to seeing everyones work!
Thanks again,
Steve

Here is one of my remarques. I cannot get a close up without bad reflections now, but will photograph them before framing in future.

Hello All,

I just figured out how to post images, so I’m highly motivated. Here are some remarques. The drawings look much better in person, as I’m not the best digital photographer.

First two are Nicolas Trudgian’s Green Heart Warriors.

Next is RT’s Hurricane Scramble, and my favorite remarque.

Next is RT’s Fourth Fighter Patrol. The drawing is Bud Anderson’s “Old Crow”, so I went to an airshow and had Bud Anderson and Chuck Yeager sign next to the remarque.

Next is RT’s Doolittle’s D-Day.

Nice thread!

Why do the RT remarques have a “yellow”-white background? It looks less than flattering…

Stormchaser, excuse my lack of knowledge but can you tell me the title of this one? It has to be the best winter cloud/groundscape I’ve ever seen.

Hi Col, it’s a fairly recent RT painting called ‘Strike And Return’. It features Lancasters of 460 Squadron returning to RAF Binbrook in Lincolnshire. ๐Ÿ™‚

The yellow is the actual border of the printed image intended to be shown on the matted/framed print. The white is the excess paper border which allows for matting. Some of the larger remarques will cross into this “extra” white space.

I have to say I’m not a big fan of remarques and find they only detract from the painting. Maybe its the crudeness of a quick pencil sketch, but I just don’t like seeing them plastered on the work. As a separate entity they can stand on their own merit.

Here is a remarque that I have just completed. It is No 74/250. 74 Sqn was a Lightning Sqn with a Tiger badge, and although not based in Germany, the client is a 74 Sqn fan, lives near an ex-Lightning base, and has ex-74 Sqn and ex- OC RAF Gutersloh contacts to get additional signatures. The remarques consist of the 74 Sqn badge and a Lightning F1 of 74 Sqn.

As Gray is no fan of remarques, I have to add that I am no fan of signatures dictating value, but they do convert a print into a potentialy historical document, therefore I can respect the attraction even if I wouldnt be proactive at selling with signatures myself.

Some remarques are a lot better than others, but I certainly think the higher quaility ones stand out as a serperate piece of art in their own right.

Something you don’t see everyday. Michael Howard’s Panzer Drive, with a huge double-sized remarque of a Me-110 ( I really love this remarque ), this print also has super color. This is a special publisher presentation print 1/1, pretty cool.

That’s a real beaut, alright. Love the framing, photos and insignia. I would venture to guess the cost of framing is as much, if not more, than the remarqued print? :think

Heres one of my favorites, it is a double remarque on the R.Taylor print “STRIKE & RETURN”. The print came with 8 signatures on and so far i have added a further 49.
I will add a few more of my remarqued prints of the next few days.

I don’t get it. You ordered a Double Remarque edition, and you got a single, large remarque instead?

Was it something you requested or does that come as standard for an RT Double Remarque? ๐Ÿ˜•
