My brother has this framed now and I think it looks great :drool I think that the ‘old’ style of frame really suits it.

Does this count?

The only comics that I would buy as a kid were illustrated by Joe Kubert, Sgt Rock, Enemy Ace, Haunted Tank, etc.. I found 2 hard bound Enemy Ace books last year and sent them t o Mr. Kubert to have them signed. As an afterthought, I asked, ever so politely, if he could draw “Hans Von Hammer” for me on the inside of the book. Needless to say, I was BLOWN AWAY 2 weeks later when I recieved the books back.

Hey MIG, I like it! :yo I remember when I was young :cry2 a comic called ‘Battle’ and it had some of the best artwork I have seen, especially a W.W.1 series called ‘Charley’s War’. ahhh memories!

Here’s another Original by Nicolas Trudgian; this time it’s mine – makes a change LOL πŸ™‚

Signatures are Hans Philipp (206 aerial victories; Knights Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords) and Walter Nowotny (258 aerial victories; Knights Cross with Oakleaves, Swords and Diamonds) of JG 54 ‘Green Hearts’ , both K.I.A. in 1943 and 1944 respectively.

Hope you like it, sorry about the not-so-good pic, it’s come out a bit bright on the top left hand side but in reality the colour is uniform.

Also another original of Lt. Walter Wolfrum’s Bf. 109 G from JG 52 in 1944. I got this one signed by him at an event a while back (137 aerial victories and Knights Cross holder).

:cheers2

Did you buy your drawing from the nice folks at aviation art world I saw that drawing on their website.
I have bought prints from them and have always had 100% satisfaction.

Hi Guys,
Actually the fellows at Av. Art. World. are offering it for sale on my behalf. Was a question of would I or wouldn’t I sell it, if it goes then ok but also considering removing it from sale and having it framed myself. . . .decisions. . . .decisions!!! πŸ™‚

Once it has gone …its gone forever ……. no regrets I hope.

I have bought the same prints that I have sold because I missed them so much and in most case paid more.

I have done that with mechanical wristwatches another of my vices and a very expensive habit. In the past few years vintage Rolex5513s (hence my screenae have gone from about $1500 to $4500 or so. Other more rare stuff is far worse.

We should all find a cheaper hobby, but it would never be as fun LOL

HAPPY CHRISTMAS everyone!!! :cheers

I know what you mean re: selling prints/drawings etc., but sometimes it’s nice to move onto a new project with the proceeds from a sale; but as I said, if this one doesn’t go then I wouldn’t be too disappointed!!

I hope that you all have a good festive time – I enjoy this forum!!!

Best to you all!! πŸ™‚

Here’s another original drawn by Nicolas Trudgian.
Again the scan isn’t so good – the colour is more ‘uniform’ and the drawings are clearer (It’s the feeble photographer again!! πŸ™‚ ), but I’m sure that you get the jist of it.

Signatures are Erich Hartmann (352 aerial victories – Knights Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds). Gerhard Barkhorn (301 aerial victories – Knights Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords) and Wilhelm Batz (237 aerial victories – Knights Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords).

All JG 52 Aces (Numbers 1,2 and 6 on the ‘all time’ list).

Hope you like it.
:cheers

Believe you me I like it just fine.

Is that Trudgian piece all matted and framed?

If so you must show us………………

No, it isn’t matted and framed as yet, just stored in a sleeve, flat and out of the light – I hardly ever look at it!! πŸ™„ It’s one of those that I guess is best kept put away unless it’s framed and glazed correctly – It’s another I may sell, but would not be too disappointed if I didn’t πŸ™‚

If/when it gets framed I’ll post some images.

Have a Happy New Year.

That Russ is simply my favorite of all WWI artists including all the older stuff by Dietz etc. I have just about all of his prints (all of them remarqued!!!)

He is also a very humble and nice man.
