FW-190

In June 1942, following a dogfight over the Bristol Channel, a lost Luftwaffe pilot landed his Focke-Wulf Fw-190 at RAF Pembrey, he was promptly “captured” by the air traffic controller with the only weapon at hand – a very pistol.

Some  really nice drawings posted and I continue to check back in with this thread, by far the most popular on here I would imagine.

Len, be careful what photo reference you are using and double check your A model if you use reference from the internet. This version of the FW-190 did not have the air scoop on top of the cowl and I have no idea why this was added as it hurts authenticity. I imagine for the engine installed but I cannot get past it…..

Otherwise a very nice drawing And you continue to improve every time you create one of your pencils.

As usual the Taylors and Trudgians are up to their exceptional quality.

Cheers!

Brian

Lots of nice additions to this thread.  I love the Triplane, and Russ’ drawing is great.  I did a double take on the Rudorffer drawing.  He’s almost always depicted on the eastern front.  The tropical Hurricane opponent surpised me.  Nice choice of subject and a great drawing.  Len’s B-24 looks good.  Nice angle on the B-24.  Not many angles favor the B-24.

Hi all

trust Brian to spot something wrong with the FW190 cry kisskiss

The pic was taken from a preserved specimen…but the bubble canopy model…..looked at the plans to convert it but missed the intake embarassed

As for the B-24….that IMHO is the best looking American bomber and to me looks good at any angle, for me the B-17 is the ugly duckling of the American stuff….but there again (I think) the A W Whitley is one cool looking aircraft, so who am i to listen too laugh

Below is a F4U Corsair of the Jolly Rogers VF-17

Robert Taylor – Dambusters – M Mother

Sepia drawing  by Robert of Hopgood’s plane M Mother which crashed after attacking the Mohne Dam. Included in the matting is a piece of M Mother recovered from the crash site and the signature of Tony Burcher who survived the crash and became a POW.

Sorry looking above I dont know why that Russell Smith double Remarque was posted by me in the pencil drawings forum way back in the day.

Im psting this Robert Taylor 109 drawing as it belongs here not in remarques.

I went all out on extra signatures as well as matting framing.

ADDED a signed Nowotny card, Barkhorn signature and the piece also has another 5 rare Lutwaffe aces sigs.

Rolex!!

Welcome back! I understand how life can be and Lord knows we have had our share of trials and tribulations over the past year. Hoping to recover send make some progress myself with the art!

It seems people are coming back and I agree it would be nice to regain the momentum we once had here.
