I am venturing into unchartered waters with my latest W.I.P. depicting the 1955 Trans Antarctic Expedition inclusive of an RAF DHC Otter and Auster Antarctic aeroplanes. I have never painted snow before and so there is a lot of reading and trial and error going on behind the scenes. The more I push my own artistic boundaries, the more I realise how much more our education system could do with Art as an educational subject. Mathematics; Physics, and Biology all feature in artistic planning if you look for it. I had worried about the composition being too busy but now intend to add more foreground & middle distance subjects.
