This is my first post on the forum, though I’m reticent about sticking my head up around all these awesome aviation artists; I’ve always wanted to move into this subject, being a lifelong WW2 aircraft nut, but my agents have all been tied into the more traditional art gallery market. That now seems, from my experience over the past year, to be firmly in the doldrums, so I am now able (if not compelled) to finally dip my toes and brushes into this new genre. I’ve got much to learn, which is why I am here…
“The First Day of the Last Year”
This is my interpretation of events during the 1945 New Years Day attack on allied airfields in the Low Countries: Polish Pilot Officer T. Szlenkier of 308 Sqn watches a JG2 aircraft going down over Sint Denijs.

Looking at photos of your work can often reveal mistakes you weren’t aware of (as can holding a small mirror up to view it)… I can see now that I need to correct some mis-alignment of the cowling side panel-line, just above the wing root.
