Just a question everyone. I know this prints value as a print hand signed by Hartman and Rall and to be honest that is the main reason i bought it. However i just dont really like it, it has always looked a little too much of one colour to me. Of the Hartman trilogy – it has always been the other 2 i liked the most. So this is just testing the water. . . is there anyone out there after this? I would probably be willing to trade for a similarly valued print framed or unframed that i would feel better about having on my wall if you know what i mean.

Nothing in particular preferred, although the sigs mean as much to me as the print itself so i would prefer looking at something with Luftwaffe sigs of similar calibre involved. Favourtie artists are Taylor, Trudgian, Postlethwaite and West, although you would probably only find similar value sigs on another Taylor. Here is a shot of the print. Obviously i have the COA as well. Print is framed – albeit basically, but using non reflective glass and acid free materials throughout. Has never been in direct sunlight.

Amen Reggie,

I bought the single signature print when it first came out. I didn’t like it for the same reason – it’s almost monotone in color. Also, the shape of Hartmann’s 109 looks a little odd to me.

I traded it + $50 to get Knight’s Cross. I love Knight’s Cross – the sky is really cool.

On the plus side, Birth of a Legend has become a sought after print. There are people who find it compelling. It usually sells for a decent sum. On the other hand, selling a framed one is hit and miss. Sometimes a valuable framed print goes for good money, but I’ve also seen them go for trivial amounts (on eBay). You just can’t tell.

Good luck!

Thanks Fuzzy, Knights Cross is a great print. I am glad i am not the only one who feels this way about it. I have tried to like this print – but have come to the conclusion that i just probably will never really like it. There is not point taking it to a gallery as they will only give a fraction of the value to you – so if i cant trade it i will probably keep it but may remove it from its frame and store it nice and safely rather than have it on the wall 😀
