Clever marketing what? Thank you Aviation Art Hangar for being first off the mark.

Below is a partial image of John Shaw's new print entitled "A Higher Call"

oops, doesn't show so link below:

No doubt John Shaw has improved his technique out of sight over the years and exhibits MUCH more imagination than does RT1 and the Military Gallery. Consider the bar lifted!!

My pleasure! Can't wait to see it in the flesh! No doubt, it'll be one of John's more sought after works. The story behind it is a well-known classic.

I think this is another release from Valour Studios.
They have had the preview image on their website for a few days now.

And it is going to be signed by both men!
The art is great, but as a signature collector, I am drooling over this one!
Credit card seems to be missing though.............wife may have found out :) LOL

John has always impressed me. The Battle for Wake was amazing.
Summer of 42 - one of my favorites!

I beleive another one out of Valor, and I agree with the previous statements.

I must give it to Valor, they are bring out some prints with "more imagination".

Yes, Valor is to be commended for this. However, in my opinion, the bulk of the credit should go to John Shaw.

For those who remember way back, this scene has already been done as an aviation art print. It was called "The Gallant Foe" by Michael Wooten. I believe it was also signed by Stigler and Brown.

Here's the only link I could find to that old print:

So, this isn't something new, it's been done before. However, this event has never been portrayed in such an amazing way. My hat is off to John Shaw for this one!

I think its a great idea to give us a preview so we can put it in our budget!

Yes, a really good idea - publisher's take note :)

I can't wait to see it either. The Victory Editions will ship first, followed by the AP and PP whenever Valor completes the signing process on the companion prints. Patience is a virtue.

I think my Victory Edition is being shipped today. I had Ross throw in a "Summer of 42" as well. I decided I wanted a grouping of Flying Tiger sigs. :D

Framer in me is thinking something to blend with the clouds on top. Perhaps a blue or something. Kinda like what I did on my Savage Skies.

Then a brown / olive bottom mat.

The plane is so big, that color really does not need to be messed with using a dark mat on top.

See my posts where I showed off my Angels from Above print. Used beige on top.

yes - looks better than the online images. I really did not pay attention to the dimentions, its a bit smaller than I expected BUT I had ordered Summer of 42 as well which was in the tube and that's a LARGE image.

A Higher Call - well worth it! (42 is also great)
