I am trying to find a source for a Jim Kilburn print titled “Step Time II, Combat Edge.” I am an Aircrew Life Support Superintendent with the Oregon Air National Guard, and would like to acquire a number of these for retirement gifts for my pilots. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Hi wigenb

Welcome to eHangar.com and congratulations on your first post.

I have not heard of this artist, Jim Kilburn, before. Does he specialize in aviation art? Do you have an image of the print you mentioned to display here?

and a bit about him on the same site

Suberb artwork, reminds me very much of the work of Jean-Luc Beghin, if you’ve not seen his work take a look at

I too have been looking for this print, as well as “Step Time”, his first print. We had the fortune to purchase 2 copies of “Step Time II” a few years ago, but have been unable to reconnect with the individual who sold them to us – he was the gentleman who posted the “We’ll Miss You Jim” website. There used to be purchasing information on that site. We’ve sent him a letter this year to inquire about getting reprints or permission to have them duplicated. The only copies of “Step Time” we are aware of are one that a AF pilot friend recieved as a gift and one hanging in a McDonalds in Ogden, UT. We’ve even emailed the curators at the USAF Art Collection website inquiring about purchase (they used to post both of his “Step Times” on their site.) No response though.

If you have any new information, please share.

Here’s “Step Time”

Jim died in the late 90’s I think. I was lucky enough to get both Step Time prints.
